1. Maintain a suitable ambient temperature.

The important factor that affects the battery life is the ambient temperature. The optimal ambient temperature required by general battery manufacturers is between 20-25 ° C. Although the increase in temperature has improved the battery's discharge capacity, the price paid is a greatly reduced battery life. According to experimental measurements, once the ambient temperature exceeds 25 ° C, the battery life will be reduced by half for every 10 ° C increase. At present, the batteries used in UPS power supply are generally sealed lead-acid batteries without protection. The design life is generally 5 years, which can only be achieved under the environment required by the battery manufacturer. If the required environmental requirements are not met, the length of life will vary greatly. In addition, the progress of the ambient temperature will lead to an increase in the internal chemical activity of the battery, which will generate a large amount of thermal energy, which in turn will cause the ambient temperature to rise. This vicious cycle will accelerate the shortening of the battery life.

2. Punctual charge and discharge.

The floating charge voltage and discharge voltage in the UPS power supply have been debugged to their rated values at the factory, and the size of the discharge current is added as the load increases. The load should be properly adjusted during use, such as controlling microcomputers and other electronic equipment Number of applications. Under normal circumstances, the load should not exceed 60% of the rated load of the UPS power supply. Within this range, the discharge current of the battery will not show excessive discharge. The UPS power supply is connected to the city power for a long time. In an application environment where the power supply quality is high and there are few power outages, the battery will be in a floating charge state for a long time. , Accelerate aging and shorten the service life. 3. Use communication functions.

At present, most large and medium UPS power supplies have operable functions such as communication with a computer and program control. Corresponding software is installed on the microcomputer, and the serial / parallel port is connected to the UPS power supply. After running this program, the microcomputer can communicate with the UPS power supply. Generally has the functions of information query, parameter setting, punctuality setting, automatic shutdown and alarm. After querying the information, it can obtain the mains input voltage, UPS power output voltage, load utilization rate, battery capacity utilization rate, internal temperature and mains frequency, etc .; after parameter setting, the basic characteristics of the UPS power supply can be set and the battery can be maintained. 4. Replace used / bad batteries in time.

At present, the number of batteries of large and medium-sized UPS power supplies ranges from 3 to 80, or even more. These single batteries are connected through a circuit to form a battery pack to meet the needs of UPS power supply DC power supply. In the successive operation of the UPS power supply, due to the difference in function and quality, the function of the single battery drops and the storage capacity fails to meet the requirements, and it is inevitable to be damaged.
