The AGM type battery is an early invention and is widely used. It is a valve-regulated sealed lead storage battery (also known as VRLA battery) using glass fiber separator (AGM), represented by some Japanese battery companies. This type of battery is a type of VRLA battery. One type of battery that also belongs to the VRLA battery is a GEL type battery. In the 1990s, the development of communication and power made the AGM type battery develop rapidly, the market share was high, and the GEL type battery was relatively low.
The AGM type battery uses a pure aqueous solution of sulfuric acid as an electrolyte having a density of 1.29 - 1.3 lg / cm 3 . Most of them are present in the glass fiber membrane, and a part of the electrolyte is absorbed inside the electrode plate. In order to provide a channel to the negative electrode for the oxygen precipitated from the positive electrode, it is necessary to keep the separator 10% of the pores from being occupied by the electrolyte, that is, the lean liquid design. The pole group is tightly assembled so that the plates are in full contact with the electrolyte. At the same time, in order to ensure sufficient life of the battery, the plate should be designed thicker, and the positive grid alloy is made of Pb'-q2w-Srr--A1 quaternary alloy. The AGM-type sealed lead storage battery has a small amount of electrolyte, the thickness of the electrode plate is thick, and the utilization rate of the active material is lower than that of the open type battery, so the discharge capacity of the battery is about 10% lower than that of the open type battery. Compared to today's colloidal sealed batteries, the discharge capacity is smaller.
Compared with the same specification battery, the price is higher, but has the following advantages: 1. The cycle charging capacity is 3 times higher than that of the lead-calcium battery, and has a longer service life. 2. Higher capacitance stability throughout the life cycle. 3. The low temperature performance is more reliable. 4. Reduce the risk of accidents and reduce the risk of environmental pollution (since the acid is 100% sealed) 5.
