Ningde era: On July 9, 2018, Ningde Times announced that it will invest 240 million euros (about 270 million US dollars) to set up a battery production base and intelligent construction technology research and development center in Erfurt, Thuringia, Germany. The Ningde era Thuringian battery production base is mainly engaged in the research and development and production of lithium-ion batteries. It will be divided into two phases. It is planned to be put into operation in 2021 and will produce 14GWh of capacity after reaching production in 2022.


Recently, Matthias Gentlaffe, President of Ningde Era Europe, said at the auto seminar held in Bochum, Germany that Ningde Times plans to increase the capacity of the German plant from 14GWh originally planned to 2022 to 100GWh in 2026. . By then, the German factory in Ningde era will likely become the world's largest battery production base. However, in response to investor inquiries, Ningde said that the company is currently promoting the construction of a production R&D base in accordance with the “Proposal on Building a European Production R&D Base”, which was reviewed and approved in July 2018. The above plan has not changed, if the future The market environment has changed, and the company will review the business development plan based on the relevant situation.


BYD: In December 2018, BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu revealed in an interview with foreign media that BYD is planning to establish a car battery factory in Europe and the United States. In Europe, companies are looking for possible locations in the UK and Germany. But the scale of the European factory was not disclosed.


Fu Neng Technology: In December 2018, Wang Wei, chairman of Fu Neng Technology, revealed in an interview with Battery China. The company's European plant has completed preliminary site selection. The initial planned production capacity is 10GWh, which is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2020.
